Sometimes, when in the course of rummaging through all of the - TopicsExpress

Sometimes, when in the course of rummaging through all of the stuff, sorting them into keep and toss piles, you run into a treasure. Were still sorting and tossing at Dads house, even though he is officially living with us now, and today I hit the jackpot. Dad had many talents besides just being a Methodist Minister. He was one heck of a soloist and a dang good artist. He did a lot of Pastels and Charcoals and some Acrylics and Oils. Today I ran across a Pastel and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I told Colin; That is Prefontaine. Of course, being my son, it is his bounden duty to disagree with and question everything I tell him at 15 years old, but I was sticking by my guns. I was certain it was Pre. So I found Dad and asked him when he did it. He said in the early 70s he would pick pictures from Magazines to use as practice subjects and this one he thought was from Life Magazine from that period. So off to Google I went and sure enough, from 1972 Life Magazine, titled: Prefontaine at Hayward, a couple of pics into the flickr file, there it was!!! This is soooooo cool. Check it out!!
