Sometimes winning becomes the only option. It was a battle between the best player in the world (arguably) vs the best team in the world (undoubtedly), and thankfully the ‘team’ won. Football was always a team sport. At a personal level, this victory was so important because: 1) I will not have to read anymore that Germany (and Europe) can never win in South America 2) I will not have to bear the brunt of some stupid Argentina supporters, who wake up after every 4 years during the WC and start writing rubbish 3) I hope to encounter fewer people now who might still say Latin American countries play better football, beautiful football, fast football :D 4) I will not have to hear ‘Germans are eternal chokers’. How foolish is that anyways 5) I can laugh at anybody now who says Messi is God. NO he is NOT, he was NEVER one. No sports icon can ever be God, they are just incredibly talented players, and that’s the end of it.
