Sometimes you have to get it wrong to get it right! This series of videos demonstrates the mind/body connection and is exactly what I was discussing yesterday. In the first clip you can see quite obviously that Im using my arms and upper back (incorrectly I might add) to execute the movement. Im also wearing running shoes, which puts my weight forward and away from my body and through my toes, instead of back and through my heels so that I can properly engage my posterior chain. Even though this is significantly less weight than my PR, the weight feels more challenging. Why? Because Im not just using my posterior chain; Im engaging my core, triceps, and lats. You dont have to move a lot of weight to work up a sweat. Focusing your mind on execution and making each muscle group work takes energy. Again, its Attention with Intention that makes the difference when you work out. Dont sell yourself short by just going through the motions. Trish
