Sometimes you just gotta say f*** it & take your sons on an adventure. Running on 3 hours of sleep in the past few days Jaylyn & I left Anthem at 8 this morning and picked OhKuwa up in the Windy Valley at noon. We stopped by my brother Joes for a bit. Dudes hugs are amazing. Saw pix of Tsaile lake completely bone dry!!! We then went home to Tewa and visited my brother Dennis. We picked some vegetables & tea from his garden, chased lizards and sucked the nectar out of those purple flowers. From there we stopped at world famous Circle M in lower Tewa for Slush Puppies. Doug Yazzie knows whats up lol. We were going to stop off at Shingopovi to visit family but still feel overwhelmingly unwelcomed there & dont want my boys to have a bad experience so we went straight to Meteor Crater. The boys collected more awesome rocks (with permission lol) for their fossil & mineral/element collections. From there we hit Flag up and on our way out said Sedona sounds like an awesome idea. We rolled the windows down & it was beautiful. We saw the burnt areas but Mother Earth is already painting her next masterpiece. There were giant signs everywhere that read THANK YOU FIREFIGHTERS along the roads. I instantly thought of Ryan & Karen and the real difference they make in peoples lives yet never meeting them. Selfless service at its core! Pure badass. We got home here in Anthem at about 9. I remember when my dad Harvey would just for the hell of it take Ben & I to Sedona. Wed spend a few days fly fishing & drinking copious amounts of Roy Rogers. The Forest was completely closed off so the boys & I couldnt do much besides the usual walking the shops. It was an awesome day. Looking forward to tomorrow! 75% complete. Happy heart. #Happy
