Sometimes you meet people that just lift your heart and inspire you. They keep the creativity alive in you. I met this young girl at Food Lion today. Her name was Amber and she was 17 years old. I stopped her to tell her that I loved her style. She was just so adorable! As I complimented her on her unique look, she said that she made the jacket and t-shirt she was wearing herself. I asked her what inspired her to take a step into fashion and this was her response: Because my mom is a single mom who is battling cancer. She has been for almost six years. When she was laid off from work, she couldnt afford clothes for me and my two little brothers so I took a sewing class at school to learn to make clothes for us out of scraps so she didnt have to stress over us not having anything to wear. My heart just melted. What if instead of looking at our lives and thinking about what we dont have, we looked at what we could do to resolve the issue. We talked for a while longer and then I hugged her and left. I pray that some day, you too will encounter an Amber of your own who will inspire you as greatly as this young lady inspired me today.
