Son is 1000 percent on pointI Hes talking White Privilege vs White Supremacy. White Privilege as in class inequality is very much an issue in this country but just by mere virtue that the dominant segment of society has more privilege or easier access to resources does not automatically mean that they are wrong or there needs a movement to raise the awareness of the obvious. As victims of Americas race/caste system we need to be much more concerned with OUR rights than we are with OTHERS privileges. Privilege can be granted and stripped away all without trampling on ones individual and inalienable rights. White privilege in no way infringes on my rights--it just means that I have to often times worker harder and/or smarter to achieve some of the same goals. On the flip side, White Supremacy which is the belief that white ideals, white media imagery, and white politicians that play on racial divisions are right and exact in their wayward self-serving social commentary. Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Mike Brown and the countless, nameless, voiceless unarmed black men that have been gunned down by white officers are all victims of white supremacy. White supremacy is also the culprit vis-a-vis them escaping justice. White media codifies the dangerous thinking of many of these white officers by providing them and their union reps (who never saw a police shooting that they did not agree with) with the requisite airtime to convince the dominant public (white people) that their dastardly deeds are in fact justified ensuring that most remain pacified. Respect to this brother. He TOTALLY gets it! I could careless if some white dude can catch a cab quicker than me or even if my African name nets my resume far fewer looks and considerations than your average Mike, John or Bob. I care much more that a white cop can kill me with impunity. I care far more that the American mainstream media will codify such a status quo making the chances of it happening again more and more likely. ---- by Shaka Berry
