Songs of Hope Lets stand together and sing the songs that echo from the graveyards of our soldiers, Soldiers who committed their lives to fight for our freedom, Fighting oppressive rules with stones of hope, Armored with shields of unity. We shall not forget the choruses sang by our prominent Black Consciousness leaders Livelong the spirit of Steve Biko,Chris Hani,Oliver Tambo,Helen Joseph and other remarkable souls which dedicated their time to fight the war filled with misconceptions about human nature, Reminding us about the pride of being Africans Teaching the unschooled how to extract pure gold from the unfruitful part of the Earth Underestimated by its unappealing state, Pass judgement because of the unique heritage that glows through our skin Reflecting the priceless gift given by out forefathers. Planting the seed of hope inside an infertile soil of destructions Filled with rage and hatred embedded with the ideas of the unknown. One day we will sit under the shade made by the tree,watered by the blood of our soldiers, Bearing the fruits of our history Feeding our hunger of freedom never felt exhausted to walk the extra mile, Journey taken without any hesitation, Leaving behind the young ones... Searching for melodies created by the wind,birds,cracking fire the song sang by our mothers Beautiful,Strong Mamas who wake up every morning in search for food through the fields,safeguarded by repressing souls Souls which block their ears with earplugs of ignorance,arrogance Failing to listen to the song of HOPE sang by everyone who wanna see change, Change which will free us from cages of mistaken belief, One day we will sing ONE song, with ONE tune, ONE voice and with one purpose which is UNITY.
