Soon after the arrest and detention of Matiba, Rubia, Raila, - TopicsExpress

Soon after the arrest and detention of Matiba, Rubia, Raila, Khaminwa, Imanyara among others which was followed by the Saba Saba riots from 7/7/1990 to 10/7/1990 Kalonzo Musyoka who was then Deputy Speaker moved a motion in Parliament to discuss the events. He made a lengthy speech saying Kenya was a sovereign state and time was not ripe for “the so-called multiparty system” as it meant tribalism. He quipped, “Why do some people question under what law some people have been detained? to them I say shame shame,” Musyoka congratulated the security forces for apprehending the detainees saying the chaos in Nairobi and other parts of the country had portrayed tribalism. He said in time, Parliament would have to debate the conduct of some diplomats associated with them. That is the same Kalonzo Musyoka who has now embraced the Saba Saba as the day to start the process of removing the Jubilee government. I would rather this came from Raila himself.
