Soon-to-be-named Ghana coach, Avram Grant, says his ambition is to make Ghana one of the biggest powerhouses in world football. The former Chelsea manager has been chosen from three-man short list nominated for the vacant Black Stars job including Spaniard Juan Ignacio Martinez and Switzerland assistant coach Michel Pont. Grant, who guided Serbian club, Partizan to their fifth consecutive championship in 2012, has vowed he wants Ghana to dominate and be more recognised in World football. “[It is the wish of Avram Grant] to make Ghana one of the biggest powerhouses of world football,” Grant’s agent Saif Rubie told graphic sports. Grant Chelsea to the final of the 2008 European Champions League and also had a four year spell in charge of the Israeli national team. The Black Stars have been without a coach since Appiah left the job after the opening two 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and was replaced by Maxwell Konadu on a temporary basis.
