Sooo, my bro, Nonoy Espina has what he calls a rare rant... READ: I am definitely no fan of Binay’s. But methinks this whole argument against impeaching or, yes, to use the word, ousting PNoy because of who will likely succeed him by constitutional fiat, springs from a class bias against those perceived not to be “up to standards” defined by the economic and self-proclaimed intellectual elite. When everyone was busy working to boot out “just a movie actor” Erap, there was nary a second thought about the super brainy economist next in line. But when, very quickly into her term her venality and utter corruption were unmasked, the hue and cry from these elite was, “It might be better to just let her finish her term and go after her later rather than have a broadcaster rule us.” And now, this. I will be willing to grant that, by and large, this line of thinking is borne out of “good faith.” But so was the DAP. You can’t claim to be a democracy and then impose the rules of oligarchy. Truly, the road to hell is paved with… MY ADD: And even when election fraud reports were piling up, everyone turned the other way because it could have meant FPJ, an actor, winning the polls :) I am for impeachment because it is a legally mandated platform by which a sitting President could be held accountable for his actions. I am not for ouster by violent means because its short-circuits the system. I was for impeachment efforts against Gloria and not for those adventurist ploys to wrest power :) To say the country will be destabilised by a successful impeachment is to underestimate the nation and fall back on the illusion that only a small group of people can save the country LOL On the other hand, I could say the same for those who think ouster and regime change are the solution to our problems :)
