Sopore gunfight: Militant flees from the Cordoned area. ABID NABI Srinagar, June 23: (GNS) Police and army have recovered only one militant body while another militant managed to flee the encounter site at Krankshiven Colony in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Official sources told GNS that as the joint team of forces was clearing the debris, one of the trapped militant, Javid Ahmad Matoo of Khushal Matoo, surfaced beneath it and started firing. In the melee, the militant managed to escape from the cordoned area, sources said, adding that searches have been extended to adjacent areas. However, when last reports came in, no arrests were made. Sources told GNS that two army men have sustained minor injuries during the gunbattle.
