Sorry I just seam to have the gonna get my opinion out there day today. So here goes another little one. The subject is cricket so if you hate cricket dont bother reading on. First topic. Slow over rates has a very simple solution. Credit the batting team with the runs they would have made if the 90 overs a day would have been bowled. Ie. Multiply the number of overs not bowled by the average scoring rate and add it to the batting sides score. Eg 6 overs short with the team batting at 4 runs an over 6 x 4= 24 runs added. Lets see teams fall short of the over requirement by 8 or ten overs then. Second problem is drinks being run onto the ground at critical times with the intention of preventing an over being bowled . Simple solution is to have a small hatch behind and at the base of the stumps with a drink bottle in it. In Australias heat it is a little hard and perhaps an occupational health issue to say no you cant have a drink but having drinks available near at hand at all times would minimize time lost. It is hard to believe the authorities have not thought of these solutions themselves.
