Sorry Im going on a rant! This hit a big nerve!! Being bullied for doing a charitable act!?!?! This makes me sad and mad! Are you serious?!?!?!? PARENTS WAKE UP AND DO YOUR DAMN JOB! This little girl did an amazing selfless caring act and she gets bullied for it! What if it was your child that benefited from it? Im so tired of hearing about kids being bullied or tortured for doing the right thing or not being good enough to social standards or not having enough! It has to stop!! Parents need to take back the reigns and start being parents not friends! Parents need to discipline and punish accordingly when its needed instead of just brushing it away or ignoring and as parents its our job to boost up, give a pat on the back, encourage and congratulate when its a positive! As parents; especially parents of girls we need to teach our daughters to band together, stick up for each other & stop being mean to each other!!! Our girls already have so much pressure from the media and society about appearance and what standards they are supposed to fit they shouldnt have to hear it from their peers. Teach your children empathy, compassion, to think before they speak, to look at situations with an open mind and from different angles, to not be so judgemental, to offer help when they see its needed, to take initiative, to not follow the crowd, to be part of something and to maybe be the person who helps another person believe! Be a parent, encourage their positives, call them on their bullshit, be involved, ask about their day, their friends, just life in general. Maybe bullying is their cry for help or reflection of what they feel at home or the example set forth. If you has a parent condone or encourage this type of behavior you have no business being a parent! Instead we need to be teaching our children to embrace life, smile at someone whos frowning, stick up for the ones who are picked on or afraid, not to fall into the media hype, to encourage their friends and peers, to have confidence in themselves but not be stuck up or snide, to help those in need, lend an ear, and most importantly to be themselves and treat others how they wish to be treated!! Shame on those kids that bullied her and hopefully their parents do their job! Way to go girl! You did an amazing thing and there are so many that you will touch and help put that smile on their face! And as for all these little bullies shake em off theyre just jealous!
