Sorry but its a long azz post Representation is crucial...a ppl with power have representation and the means for it to be consistent. Any derogatory representation regarding indigenous ppl is absolutely a bigger issue than many will admit. When u can represent yourself you can do amazing things. Those who claim to represent you or your ppl in demeaning ways, welcome those who protect this kind of injustice. They thrive on it and even reward such colonial behaviour. Its gross misrepresentation and can allude to our ppl being objectified....mass murder that occurs due to war, base their propaganda on objectification, in order to make those they kill off, deserving of such....If you dont think a white group of ppl depicting themselves as stereotypical Indians, is wrong, maybe u have an agenda that is more aligned with the fraudsters who rejoice in mimicking my ancestors, than u are with being solutionary and about any kind of rights at all....human rights require humans right? Well if indigenous ppl are not taken seriously enough to equate belonging to humanity, then why not dress up as them and finalize the last step in colonization? Representation is key to decolonization Colonized ppl do not have power, privilege, the right to represent themselves This meant no writers, no artists, no access or print media, no money, no power, no access to infrastructures.... The power to represent...who chooses the images or words? Who writes the words? Who takes the pictures or shoots the film? Who sets editorial policy? Who decides what story is told and who decides what image is used?? What is representation? The description or portrayal of someone or something in a particular way, having particular characteristics.... Dehumanizing colonial subjects is a critical step in colonialism Language and imagery are persistent tools of colonialism and neocolonialism So u see, every shitty thing we as marginalized, indigenous ppl, experience isnt Bcoz we have been trained to hurt ourselves ....this would relinquish ownership of the majority of the blame onto ourselves....no If the issues are that hard to figure out, then sit back n be quiet and speak to them when u finally get it....Bcoz if u carry on misrepresenting, u are part of the problem and is that really an innocent mistake? Once or twice maybe, but consistently, no....then u start to appear planted .... This not a game....this is our fkn lives
