Sorry, calendar-lovers, but Hap really disliked doing the calendars. He would think up the ideas and bang them out all out at once to meet the deadline. One year in the late 70s, I printed my own Xmas card with my version of a Kliban-style cat hanging upside down off the treetop. I sent him one, of course. Some time later I learned that he had incorporated the idea into the calendar the following year. I was thrilled.
