Sorry for all the clinical talk but I like to teach as I learn:) with an injury such a Gabby has, severed spinal cord, something called spinal walking can happen. Basically the brain has memory of movement so it is stimulated to walk in reflex. With spinal walking a dog will not move their legs mid air. They will just hang. As you can see Gabby is clearly moving her legs mid air. This is a CONFIRMATION she is regaining actual nerve feeling and movement, not just reflex. Our surgeon explained to me yet again how unbelievably rare and how lucky our Gabby doo is. This almost NEVER happens.
