Sorry for my absence, Ive been at my Uncles place here in Spain and the internet is a bit temperamental. Today, he and my Aunt took me out to a nice restaurant that was quite a ride from their home. The view was worth it. We drove passed the Rock of Gibraltar and it was huge, I didnt imagine the scale of it correctly. The mountains of Moroco were a light blue in the distance, swathed in clouds rolling down from them and covering the straights. Huge ships passed between the channels. Amazing, I am very lucky to have seen this. Now, we proceeded to this little restaurant on the south west coast of spain, across from this pine covered park on the beach. The area was a valley, filled with cattle and beautiful scenery. To me the most striking thing were the huge windmills, Ive seen a couple of power generating windmills before but these things were huge/ gargantuan/titanic! Now keeping with my policy of being in a foreign land I decided to eat something that I would not ever see on a menu on the other side of the atlantic. Yesterday it was a thing called baccharones, Henry suggested them, they are fresh sardines without the head that are breaded and fried. Its not that bad, just dont eat the tail and chew to crush all the bones. Today I decided to have partridge, like in a pear tree....now these are some small birds that were wild and hunted down. I knew this because I had to spit out 3 pellets of bird shot. Deciding that I wanted to limit my lead intake I began to carefully dissect each piece to ensure that I would not encounter any more pellets. I hope that everyone reading this is well, I miss you all and hope to see you soon. BTW that horrible cold is just about over and I used my meager winnings at that Casino to buy my Aunt and Uncle lunch yesterday, money well spent.
