Sorry for the gaff. The first numbers reported were the total. (I was trying to report and play nurse at the same time and it caught up with me.) A more concise look at the results follows: Alan J Brown was selected as the top Republican candidate for Magistrate Judge with 446 votes and will face Democrat Ronald Dee Brown in the General Election. Brown received 321 votes. In the race for County Commission District 1, Republican Sherry Fletcher (538 votes) will face the Democratic incumbent Bobby J Allen who received 414 votes. Republican Glenn C. Hamilton, a lieutenant with the Sheriffs Department, overtook incumbent sheriff Joe E Baca Jr. with a total of 528 votes and will face Democratic challenger Michael K Lanford who received 497 votes. Republican challenger Pamela D Smith won the primary race for Probate Judge with 549 votes and will face Democratic challenger Virginia L Jones in November. Jones received 435 votes. We will have additional coverage on Statewide races as well as the uncontested primary race results and all of the totals in the upcoming edition of The Herald.
