In Matthew 7 Jesus teaches us about why we should not judge other people. He also teaches about the importance of persistence in prayer, the Golden Rule, and how to recognize false prophets (false teachers, preachers, and other unethical leaders). He concludes with teaching about the importance of a strong foundation (or understanding) of Christian principles; Therefore, everyone who hears what I say and obeys it will be like a wise person who built a house on rock. . . Everyone who hears what I say but doesn’t obey it will be like a foolish person who built a house on sand. Rain poured, and floods came. Winds blew and struck that house. It collapsed, and the result was a total disaster (verses 24, 26-7).
