Sorry that this is a little long, but I went to Subway to grab something to eat tonight. While I was paying for my stuff a kid around the age of my oldest son came in. He seemed nervous/shy and spoke very quietly and asked if there was a manager he could talk to. I assumed he wanted to see if they were hiring. I could not believe my ears, he said he was hungry and asked if he could have a piece of bread. Manager said no he was not allowed. He was starting to leave and I told him wait and asked him are you hungry he very quietly said yes. I told the worker to make him a sandwich and told the kid to grab a drink and some chips. I waited for his sandwich to be made and walked outside to talk to him for a few minutes. He was trying to get to Burien, but didnt know which way to go. I gave him directions on how to walk there (which would be a very long walk), but also told him buses stop at the light rail station and gave him a couple of bucks. He thanked me a few times throughout this time. I dont know his story except that he was at SCORE and was just released. I wished him luck and said goodbye.
