Sorry this is so long!! For those of you who have not been around forever. I got a message yesterday. It is one of those message that makes you cry. I rescued 13 eskies from a barn in Carlisle, Pa back in April of 2008. All these dogs came from a single pair. The male and female did what any two dogs will do. The owners placed some of the dogs but could not find homes for the others and kept them. They finally rehomed the male thinking that would take care of the problem. Of course it did not as there were male sons. that bred with sisters/mothers. I am sure you are wondering why after 4 yrs were there only 13 dogs instead of 100s? if you know about pack life only mom the alpha female was allowed to raise a litter. Maggie was then adopted by a wonderful lady. Maggie was terrified of simple things we all take for granted. The coffee maker noise, the tv, radio... anything that made noise was scarey. She had spent her entire two years of life in a barn. if anyone wants to read the story about these eskies it can be found here. eru.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=3341#PA13 then look up the PA-13- A barn full of eskies. ANYWAY.......... I got this message last night along with a picture of Maggie, from a friend who is listing her home for sale. adopter must have told me 10 times that Maggie is the love of her life. She is such a beautiful dog. She has that great big fenced yard to run in and is so sweet. She kept body slamming the back of my legs to play (shes a lightweight, I barely felt it), was rolling over, dashing thru the grass, was awesome to see her. Im sure you remember her well. The adopter is engaged and she and fiancé are selling their homes to buy one together and her #1 priority she told me is to have a good dog yard for Maggie. Thought youd like to hear the super good update... very sweet! Photo is her bed!
