Sorry (to God) this is so late. I really believe we do God a disservice when we come to Him with a request and then once He has answered we fail to give Him thanks or give the credit somewhere else such as “I’m sure glad that the Dr knew what he was doing and could help me out!” instead of giving the Glory to God Almighty. It is very close to blasphemy and places us on dangerous ground. Anyway. Enough preachingJ Although it has been a long and couple of weeks, we knew that God was in continual control. As we walked/rolled down the ramp in the dark at around 3:30 AM Friday, (5 days after surgery) with my Trach hanging halfway out on our way to the emergency room, we had no idea that we wouldn’t be returning for 12 hours. But I vividly remember Carol and I praying and thanking God for another day that He had given us, and although we didn’t know what He had planned for us, we did ask that He would use us to Glorify Himself. It set the tone for the whole day for us. I don’t think we have seen all the positive results of God putting us though such a trial that day, but He concluded it with a massive blessing. When we got home Henry and Amy, our daughter & “2nd son”, through the blessing of someone else, brought over a brand new indoor air conditioner that exhausted via an 8”-10" tube through the screen! I’m sure you all remember how hot last week was. Praise God He protected us throughout the day, eventually getting the Trach put back in properly in Duluth. Praise God GICH (Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital) is planning a training session with my surgeon from Duluth so they will be prepared for any Trach issues in the future, not only mine but anyone else. (I volunteered to be the Ginny Pig for the demonstration, maybe another opportunity to represent Christ?) Also, Praise God for the new air conditioner that was bought for us by a couple from Grand Portage (the last church we (God) planted.) Lately I have been feeling that a pastor or missionary that has sacrificed to serve God on minimal income, then not having any retirement, no house equity and no Social Security to speak of (due to low income) is often forgotten by the “larger” church. We got another encouragement from a fellow that came to our back door last evening and said he was sent by couple from a church in SW MN that had previously partnered with us. They heard that our air conditioner had broken down last year and so this fellow was sent to see what it would take to replace it. Praise God, we could tell him that God had already taken care of that need. I ended up with a serious infection from the events a week ago Fri, but got some antibiotics yesterday & God is already granting relief. I am really going to miss church tomorrow (3 weeks). My heart will be there though. As Jesus taught us in his model prayer, the only way we can come to God is in humble worship. Our Father in heaven, Holy and Sanctified and Glorious and Magnificent is Your Name. May your Kingdom be fulfilled and completed and recognized here on earth just as it already is in Heaven! When we consider your greatness, and who we are in relation to that, all we can do is worship you and give you the praise for every day you give us here, but more importantly, through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, through your GREAT Kindness, we look forward to eternity in your presence, continuing to do your will and worshiping You. Thanks You, Thank You, Thank You Amen Phil. Carol & even Buddy (Ratzlaff)
