Sounds blissful to me! Jennifer shared this description of her daughters preschool experience: I observed my daughter in her Montessori classroom today. She took forever to do a piece of work. Stared off into space daydreaming a lot. Colored 2 pictures of ducks and generally wandered. And I couldnt be happier. If it werent for RIE, I dont know that I would have this outlook. It was so nice to see that there was no pressure in the class to do x,y, and z. That she got to wander and sit on the floor or at a desk. She chose what work she wanted to do. And all the kids did the same. There were no task masters. There was quiet conversation at the coloring table. O just watched, which explains why she has SO much to say when she gets home. Shell be 4 in August. Aside from a few good jobs I am feeling pretty good about her school after today. If you are interested in Montessori, I highly recommend doing this kind of observation during the long work period. At least half an hour.
