South Africa...the pull. All Nations and the Church Planting - TopicsExpress

South Africa...the pull. All Nations and the Church Planting Experience...the Opportunity. Over the last few weeks...really the last four years, God has been doing something similar but different in Deborah and myself. Hes dramatically changed both of us. For Deborah it was probably more of the opening of doors to share her heart and to give life to the passion He had planted in her. For me...well it was a transition that was less angels and halos and more less selfish jerk. In reality God has, I think, shown me what He really desires from us as His sons and daughters, particularly in how it comes to loving the lost. Its not that Im against speaking out against sin its just that I dont think thats the primary means by which we are meant to win people to Christ. Jesus Himself spent precious little time pointing out sin and much of His time making disciples and opening eyes and hearts through relationship. I prayed for a job that would be more than a job...a place where I could really help others. He answered that prayer but what I found was that what I was doing, as great as it was...was temporal not eternal. You can feed the hungry, heal the sick and raise the dead but thats not enough. If you dont love the lost and hurting, live the gospel and share His hope...then what we do, while charitable and kind, doesnt impart the most precious gifts...relationship and eternal life. God calls of us to a life so full, rich and beyond our wildest dreams. We dont have to wait to get to Heaven to see God in action in our daily lives. In what seems like a flash we have collectively come to the conclusion that He has called us to South Africa to learn and to serve. Over the next 10 months we will become those people. You know the ones...the people who email, Facebook, message, carrier pigeon, smoke signal and call soliciting prayer and dollars to support what we feel led to do. For those of you willing to pray and more we graciously and humbly thank you. Chris
