South Stradbroke Island Campfires on South Stradbroke Island are restricted to designated campfire rings that are at the council camp sites on the Island Wasp Creek Rural Fire Brigade has received fire reports of campers lighting illegally placed oversized campfires over the last two days.On both occasions these fires were sending embers into bushland. We ask the public visiting South Stradbroke to take care while camping on this unique Island We realise that some members of the public are unaware of campfire regulations for the Island. Please share this information with your friends and help us protect South Stradbroke Island for all to enjoy The brigade ensures the council rangers are kept updated with current fire warnings Please check with the Council Rangers for all information on Campfires in the camping grounds.
