South Sudan Facing Major Food Crisis - Since the conflict started in South Sudan six weeks ago, more than 870 000 South Sudanese have been forced to flee their homes. Some of the refugee camps have over 100,000 people in them, and in Eastern Equatoria, the state where Drop in the Bucket are based, there are over 50,000 people displaced by the conflict. Drop in the Bucket is launching an initiative where people can donate soap to the people living in camps, because with so many people living so close together soap is as effective as medicine in keeping people healthy. Soap can make the difference between one person getting sick or an entire refugee camp or 50,000 people getting sick.
