!!!Southern Star Series Report!!! The stars aligned for the WK&P team in the final round of the Southern Star Series with all our drivers in contention taking out championship honours despite the odds stacked against them. Ryan Van Ree proved once again that he is one of the best Tag Super Heavy drivers in the state after another brilliant round win on route to claiming his first red plate and Southern Star title. Herman Van Ree defied the odds to take his championship trophy in the Tag heavy division, coming from a massive 12 point deficit to claim his third red plate. Despite being involved in a red flag incident in the 3rd heat, Herman pushed on to claim 4th overall in the round given him enough points to claim yet another Championship in his decorated karting career. Sportsman Restricted Heavy Driver Joshua Groch battled with brake dramas all weekend including running the entire heat 2 with total brake failure on the way to claim another solid round podium and ultimately the overall Series title. After a points dispute from the previous round at Wagga was finally resolved, Groch only had to finish on the podium to claim one of the greatest prizes in NSW country Karting. The Red plate Victories are the first for the WK&P team and the first for the Van Ree name in 10 years. The championship victories are also the first Championship titles for LGK in Australia and HADJAR RACE ENGINES ALBURY. The Wodonga Karts and Parts crew would like to thank all their sponsers and supporters who have made all their success to date possible, including: - Dave Galley from HADJAR RACE ENGINES IN ALBURY -RAVN CABS ALBURY Special thanks to Christian Van Ree, Blair Van Ree, Veronica Groch and Neville Groch for organising food, pit crewing and keeping the drivers hydrated. Next up for the WK&P team is the Albury/Wodonga Gold Rush next weekend.
