Space FM 90.1 Africa Unite Egypt army chief Abdel Fatah al-Sisi indicates he will run for presidency ## Field Marshal Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, the Head of the Egyptian army has expressed his willingness to run for Egypt’s presidency, saying ``he cannot ignore the demands of the majority.’’ He said this during the graduation ceremony at the Cairo war college, that the official procedures concerning his candidacy were expected in coming days. Most Egyptians regard him as a decisive figure that can end the political turmoil that has gripped Egypt since a popular uprising backed by the military toppled autocratic president Hosni Mubarak in 2011. Field Marshal Sisi said Egypt was witnessing difficult times that required the unity of the people, army and police. According to a report Sisi, who was Mubaraks military intelligence chief, has become so popular that his image appears on T-shirts and posters and even on chocolate bars.
