Spartan Scroll - Coach Ed Koester // July 26th What a great new beginning we are seeing this year. The turf installation will be complete within hours of this post. What an extremely attractive field and stadium we have. This is a facility that is outstanding. It could be one of the most eye catching places in Paulding County or North Georgia for that matter. The kids have grown with leaps and bounds this summer. I am impressed with both their work habits and the skills they demonstrate. We have a ways to go to be ready for Sprayberry on August 22nd and now that mandatory practices are in full swing improvements will come fast. Our Camp Agoge was also a rewarding experience, with valuable life lessons being taught and learned. The kids responded well to the Shield of Valor theme S.H.I.E.L.D. S...SPARTANS who we are. H...HONESTY there can be no truth without honesty I...INTENSITY the weight of your effort; out perform all others E...EXCELLENCE forever strive, never be satisfied, your best can always get better L...LOYALTY It is mandatory D...DETERMINATION never surrender; dont be stopped, prevail always. Many young men have stepped up to replace the talent that has moved on. Jake Oglesby is leading the pack as the QB and Chase Wilkerson continues to press him making both players better. Trevon Simmons walks the walk and will be a force on both sides of the ball. Evan McKnight improves everyday and looks to be a mountain of a man on the OL. Brandon Sutherland no one works harder and truly exemplifies excellence. Dawson Mitchell has earned a spot at LB with developing instincts and hard nosed play. Many others as well have caught the coachs eye making us a viable force in region 5-AAAAA. This can truly be a rewarding year we look forward to seeing everyone out to all Spartan activities.
