"Speak softly, but carry a big stick." In a world of ignorance and hate, one must "protect thyself." There is no utopia, and a smile will not keep your ass safe from the takers of the world. It seems man has not really advanced to the level of peace and understandings, and until we are able to put away our hate, fear, and just plain criminal behavior, I feel compelled to protect myself by any means necessary.
