[Speaking for myself, as a user who wants to see DOEHRS get better, not officially as the AF DOEHRS Service Functional Rep] Sheila recently posted about an issue with the QA review process. It occurred to me that a lot of folks at the bases may not be aware of a major project that just kicked off - the Critical Enhancements / Core Capabilities effort. The goals are improving work flow, reducing clicks / chair time, increasing user data control, and increasing program office-wide search and data access to facilitate program management, not just single shop/SEG data entry. Im actually pretty excited about this project. We reprioritized the long-term system development projects, pushing the addition of new business areas back and put fixing whats already there first. Then we thought that we lost the money (sequestration), then that wed get only half, but after a 1 year delay, were back to almost full funding - thanks to the efforts at DHA and the DoD PMO. So... The Tri-Service working group has made modifying the QA workflow functionality one of the top priorities for this years project. Thats in addition to allowing users to tag more record types - samples, surveys, etc - as invalid and/or outdated (so its effectively deleted or archived as historical). Plus several others. Its not enough to make all the changes people have asked for, but the Service Reps (now Ed Lenos for AF! ) were the ones to set the priorities and, as usual, will be working directly with the PMO and the contractor to design each of the solutions. So, for those that gave up sending change requests because they didnt get resolved fast enough... we didnt get your input. Let that be a lesson to you. B-)
