Special session is back on the table Some lawmakers will be studying the Hill bill even after their session ends. By Trevor Brown tbrown@wyomingnews CHEYENNE -- A legislative committee has been tasked with recommending whether lawmakers should call a special session to address the fallout from the state Supreme Courts ruling on Senate File 104. The Legislatures Management Council voted Wednesday to assign the Joint Education Committee to study the impacts of the ruling and map out the state’s next steps, if any. The move comes in response to the court’s decision that the Legislature overstepped its bounds last year in passing SF 104. That bill stripped Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill of most of her duties and installed an appointed director of the Department of Education. The 14-member Education Committee will have until April 30 to recommend to legislative leaders if they should convene a special session.
