Speech by President Barroso: Investing in tomorrows Europe Together with the efforts of the Hungarian government, the results could be – no: should be very significant. To name just a few examples, we are expecting, coming out of this programme together with the efforts of the Hungarian authorities: - , an increase of research and innovation spending from 1.3% to 1.8% of GDP in 2020; - an almost 15% share of renewable energy consumption – thereby achieving the target set to be reached by 2020; - a considerable increase in higher education and a reduction of people leaving school early; - and a meaningful improvement in the business climate and investors confidence through, amongst other things, lowering the administrative burden.
