Spent an hour tonight detained by a couple of VPD officers who came up with brite lights, one in a car and the other on foot, as I was sitting parked in my car with my son discussing life, They said they were called by a neighbour who suspected we were trying to steal my car. When I complained about the bust of the dispensary here today 2 blocks away he said he smelled pot and wanted to see my licence. I showed him and explained I fall under the Allard injunction and the game was afoot. He said it was expired and that I required a good one , threatened to seize my medicine and arrest me made the call to HELLth Canada who said to arrest me but that they needed to call him back. so after a while he said he would let me go home but when he got the call back if i was illegal they would be coming straight there to seize all Cannabis and arrest me. But I could not stop myself from continuing on with them about right and wrong in my usual way of succinctly articulating the scope, depth and destructive impact the failed attempt to prohibit Cannabis has on society and in particular policing until his phone rang ( I had failed to take advantage of my chance they gave me to go home) but of course it turned out I was right and legal but he did say I was supposed to get a document from hellth Canada to verify my standing? I kept at them after that, with a little help from my less talkative but to the point son, for a while longer, they were typical good cop bad cop and for sure we gave them both a lot to think about even though the bad cop said It wont do you much good to try and convince just a couple of police officers, Im old school and have no desire to get high Could be that he is one that I get to and he could be the one that leads us out of this mess. they did seem like famous last words as he said them. In the end it was an example of how messed up and f%$ked up this world is, to which they both acknowledged, as well as a waste of tax and police resources, but for me they interrupted my time with my son having me at times pleading with them not to hurt me with what they were saying they were going to do ( in fairness it was only the one officer scaring and threatening me but the other gave no indication he would not go along with his partner) they had me in fear and begging while trying to explain the cost and harm to me in taking my medicine. My son said, had they arrested me it would have been life altering for him and not in a good way. At one point bad cop said, from my police officers point of view we just enforce the laws right or wrong even though on the Cannabis issue the debate is raging in society I told him there is no debate, its over there is no one credible standing up for prohibition and from a human citizens point of view, as good people we have a responsibility to break bad laws Anyway I got to go with my meds, it could have been worse, did not have to sit at home worried they were coming and those two have a lot to contemplate in their free time.
