Spent some time with Dad at Norfolk today. I was not prepared to what I saw when I walked in the room. When Greg had his bypasses, he was up the next morning - no ventilator or 11 bags of iv fluids - he was sitting up in the chair wanting some breakfast. Dad however, is still hooked up to everything. They are having to ween him very slowly off of the meds and ventilator. When they reduce some of the meds his blood pressure was falling too low. They said it was due to diminished lung function. He would squeeze my hand when I called his name but wasnt conscious enough to open his eyes. I assume that was on purpose. I am praying tomorrow will be a better day.
