Spent the day in the Mountains of North Alabama near the Tenn. border. Helped some friends pull some old ladder stands and walked some pretty hardwoods. Not too hot, still too early for much sign. Just being in the woods feels good. Would have loved to have just built a small fire right at dark and slept on the ground and told lies. Seems like we are all too busy for that kinda thing these days. The woods will be getting a lot busier as season get closer. Sometimes I wonder if I hunt to be in the woods, or go to the woods so that I can hunt, some of both I guess. Must be getting old, I think too much.
