Spent the evening at yet another Childcare Regulation information evening, discussing all the new paperwork coming down the line. Ive always loved my preschool, really love working with the kiddies and always have, but if I was to do it all again - I wouldnt! More time spent now on paperwork, paperwork, paperwork that all the joy and spontaneity (which is what childhood is all about) is gone. Plus, the pay is shit - no payment for holidays or bank holidays, no payment for maintenance and provision of buildings and facilities etc. I would advise anybody thinking of setting up a preschool or creche - DONT BOTHER, its just not worth it!
