Spent the weekend with mom, my aunt, and my memaw. We swapped stories, shared remembrances, laughed til we cried, figured out answers to the immigration problem and economic problems, made coconut pie out of squash, and proved my hypothesis that the empty squash rind does float. I also got to visit a friend of mine who teaches a class on the care of exotic animals. I made friends with a shy prairie dog, had a cockatiel sit on my shoulder, and held a spiky lizard that reminds me of a miniature dinosaur.
