When Colm Cille was a boy he dreamed a dream, He cast a SILVER hook into a GOLDEN stream, And dreaming among the Holy Wells, He dreamed a BOOK, he dreamed the BOOK of KELLS Colm Cille founded that monastery long ago, and then went into exile to Iona, in a cloud of shame and controversy. Excommunicated, banished, he fell out with the church and the powers that be. Centuries later his followers returned to the plains of Meath with this beautiful book. Pauline Scanlon, that beautiful singer from Dingle sings multi-layered harmonies on my song on my album accompanying the series, rising and falling, intertwining, cascading like a Kerry angel in the clear blue skies above modern day Kells, County Meath.
