Spiritual Association Spiritual association is very necessary. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said that one should build a strong fencing around the creeper (bhakti-lata). Lord Caitanya also warned us that as the devotional creeper grows, sometimes the unwanted weeds may also grow alongside. Unwanted weeds can take on various forms like someone becoming very proud that I am such a big devotee; I am initiated; desire for recognition, fame etc. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu advises that the unwanted weeds should be rooted out but these unwanted weeds can only be identified when you are in devotee association. If you are not in devotee association then to identify the unwanted weeds is very difficult — it is almost impossible. We need the association of other Vaisnavas to help us identify where the unwanted weeds are. Please accept my humble obeisances All glories to Srila Gurudeva ... All glories to Srila Prabhupada ...
