Spoiler-free Constantine review: I went into this show with HIGH expectations. Hellblazer is one of my favorite comic books of all time and John Constantine is one of the best antiheroes in any medium, IMNSHO. So I was expecting to be let down. I wasnt. Was it perfect? No. For one thing, the actor playing Constantine is Welsh, not English, so the accent is a little off. And the performance by the girl was a bit flat. But it captured the feel of the stories perfectly and they NAILED the attitude. Plus, Harold Perrineau is an absolute delight in just about everything Ive ever seen him in. If youre a Hellblazer fan, watch this show. If you like supernatural action tinged with horror, watch this show. If you like snarky bastard main characters who sometimes get the snot beaten out of them, watch this show. Bob Brundrett? Watch this show.
