Sports Activities from the 1950’s in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria A small clip in the middle of this video shows the National Sailing Class of Spain in the 1950’s. In 1948 there were at least 23 “Series Hispania” competing as a class in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. The “Series Hispania” designed by Mr Eduardo Espiell in 1915. L.O.A:. 5’5 m. Beam: 1.5 m. It was a pretty regatta boat designed for young & old to sail. We believe that there are no longer any sailing, however 2015 will be the Centenary year of “Series Hispania”. Who is brave enough for a new build of “Series Hispania” from original plans anyone, to celebrate & sail the National Class again? The clip also features a glimpse of Snipes which were also built & designed by the American Mr Crosby for the young & old to sail.
