Sports parents: GET YOUR OWN LIFE. Someone , on his own team (parent) turned my son in for winning money on a race, because high school kids apparently can not win money while competing or they get DQd. Kids win all sorts of scholarship or such for school but he cant have a few bucks he would have put to new running shoes. Its not about the money, its about whatever LOSER parent felt the need to call the coach on their own team instead of saying congrats to the kid. You can take his cash…but you cant take his win. I suggest you let the kids do what they do, and you go get a life. Worry about your own bank accounts. We didnt know the rule or we would have had them donate it to charity, and thats exactly what we are asking them to do with it when he gives it back.
