Spring 2015 Registration The Spring 2015 class schedule will be viewable on Tuesday, October 21. Please plan ahead for spring registration by contacting the Academic Advising Center at 713-743-4100 to make an appointment to see your advisor. Seeing an academic advisor at least once a semester will help ensure that you are on track for timely graduation. Please review course availability and have a tentative class schedule ready for your appointment or walk-in session. Priority registration begins November 7. Priority Advising The College of Technology Academic Services Center has set aside the weeks of October 27 - November 7 for priority advising for Student Athletes, Graduating Seniors, and Honors Students of the College of Technology for the upcoming spring registration period. Priority registration will be on November 7, 2014. Please contact the Academic Services Center at 713-743-4100 to make an appointment. Identify yourself as a priority advising group. Probation Advising All students on academic warning and academic probation have been sent multiple emails regarding the College of Technology mandatory advising period for students on academic probation. During the weeks of September 29 – October 24 students are required to visit their academic advisor after they have attended the 4 required academic interventions and met with their professors to fill out the In-Progress Grade Report Form. If you have questions about the requirements that were emailed to you please contact the Academic Services Center as soon as possible. Students will not be able to register for the spring semester until they have satisfied the requirements AND met with an academic advisor to remove their enrollment hold. FTIC Advising Is this your first semester at UH? We encourage all first-time-in-college students to visit with their academic advisor during the month of October and November in preparation for spring enrollment. The Academic Services Center plays an important role in you reaching your academic goals and we want to ensure you are on the right track for academic success! Last Day to Drop with a W The last day to drop a course with a W is Friday, October 31, 2014. Please be mindful of the 6 W policy. Also, if you intend to withdrawal from your last enrollment hours, you must complete a Student Request for Official Withdrawal form and return in to the Office of the Registrar in the Welcome Center. The form can be found online at uh.edu/academics/courses-enrollment/enrollment-faq/UH%20Official%20Term%20Withdrawal%20Form.pdf. Fall 2014 Graduation Application The end of the late filing period to apply online for Fall 2014 graduation with a non-refundable fee of $50 is Friday, October 31. Visit your myUH account to apply. Fall 2014 Commencement The College of Technology Fall 2014 Commencement will be held Friday, December 19 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Hofheinz Pavilion. The College will also host a reception for graduating seniors on Thursday, December 18 at 5:30 PM in the Rockwell Pavilion, MD Anderson Library. Scholarships Additional College of Technology scholarships are available to students for the fall and spring semesters. The deadline to apply for posted scholarships is Monday, November 3, 2014. The Office of Undergraduate Research is now accepting applications for the Provosts Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS) program for spring 2015. The deadline is Friday, November 14, 2014. All full-time juniors and seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA, who have not previously participated in the PURS program, are eligible to apply. The PURS is a part-time, faculty mentored research opportunity which awards a $1000 scholarship for the spring 2015 semester. Washington Internships for Students of Engineering Engineering Technology students are invited to apply for the Washington Internship for Students of Engineering (WISE).
