Spring in Farmington in the mid-60s. This is our home on Laguna - TopicsExpress

Spring in Farmington in the mid-60s. This is our home on Laguna with my sister Cheryl and our dog Taco. Our mom loved flowers and always had bulbs and roses and plants around. I never see spring roll around that I dont think back on what a magical childhood our parents provided for us even when the going was tough in an oil and gas town. My memories are of a simple time in which we were shielded from the harsh realities of life. Plenty of time for the world later. Respect for mom was paramount in our house. You could have burned down the house with less repercussions than any sign of disrespect. And she expected from us the same toward our dad. In return for the well deserved respect we got childhoods filled with lessons in charity, fairness, hardwork, respect for everyone, love of family, tolerance and never, ever taking the good fortune and blessings of life for granted. My folks were very humble. Im still workin on that one.
