SpyGhana Apologizes To President Mahama, The Al Hajj Newspaper, Etc. By Ghana News -SpyGhana Spyghana’s attention has been drawn to a blander that occurred on its homepage on Tuesday Monday November 25, 2013 in connection with a publication titled “Is President Mahama’s Home On Fire?”, which narrated an alleged incidence in the household of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama. The Management of the website would like to render an unqualified apology to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, his family and all concerned citizens for the falsehood that we inadvertently published. We categorically state that the said publication is not factual and consider the publication very offensive and damaging to all persons involved. We also apologize to The Al-Hajj for attributing the article to them. SpyGhana fell victim of an elaborate hoax and a clever trick which caused us to publish the said article. The said article was published by one of our intern staff who ignored the laid down procedures in publishing stories received by email. No editor worked on the story and the source of the story was not confirmed before publication. We have learnt our lesson and will put in place adequate measures to ensure that such mistakes are not repeated in the future hope. We call on the National Media Commission to take steps to create the conditions and the environment that will help internet based newpapers to avoid such occurrences. By this publication the Management of Spyghana would like to categorically distance itself from the publication and emphasize that every single word in that story is the figment of the writer’s imagination. One again, we would like to apologize to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and his household for the inconvenience the said story might have caused them. We would also like to apologize to the Management of the Al-Hajj Newspaper as well as any other name known and unknown that have been mentioned in the story. Again, We are sorry Mr. President Source: Management SpyGhana
