Squid vs. whale: Is this a realistic battle being illustrated? The only known predator of the giant squid, beach-stranded sperm whales have been found with sucker marks on their skin from encounters with these sometimes 40-foot-long squids. Despite the battle scars, expert Clyde Roper says that the sperm whales probably win out most of the time, if not always.
