Squirrel Ginger is the ringmaster for an animal circus. A parrot - TopicsExpress

Squirrel Ginger is the ringmaster for an animal circus. A parrot has snuck in using a weasels ticket; the weasel keeps trying to enter as well, but keeps getting thrown out. The parrot heckles, and is also thrown out. The weasel prepares to clobber the parrot, but a mole pops up with a Peace on Earth sign which the weasel smashes on the parrot. A sold-out show for the Christmas Circus cant stop Boko, a purposeful (and cantankerous) parrot, from weaseling Willie Weasels tickets away. The Christmas Circus is about to begin and all the animals are invited. All that is, except for Boko the Parrot, who has to steal Willie Weasels ticket to gain admittance. As the curtain goes up on the performance, so Boko must thwart the efforts of Willie to regain his seat and flatten the parrot. But in the end, Willies the one whos silenced as the applause rings around the Big Top and were all wished a peaceful Christmas... All the Animaland characters make an appearance in this film, and many are named for the first time as they perform in the circus. Ginger is the Ringmaster and Hazel mans the box office. Chirpy plays in the brass band, and Cooky Cuckoo is a One-Bird-Band on his own. Dusty Mole and Loopy Hare pretend to be Santa, whilst Kobber and Kate kookaburra clown around. Chester Cat attempts to walk the tightrope, Oscar puts his head in big Zimmy Lions mouth, Digger and Dinkum Platypus perform some nifty juggling and Corny is all set to be a living cannonball. It was called GB-Animation (short for Gaumont-British) and it was set up at Moor Hall in Cookham-on-Thames in 1949, by the highly regarded American animator David Hand, with backing from J Arthur Rank. Hand came to Britain via Disney, having been employed on the likes of Snow White, Pinnochio and Bambi. Under his leadership, a crew of some 200 personnel were assembled, and production began on two series of short animated films; nine Animalandcartoons and ten more Musical Paintbox shorts. Of the two, the Animaland cartoons are best known. These featured a host of colorful critters at play. Four of them starred a chipper squirrel called Ginger Nutt and his pals Loopy the Hare, Corny the Crow and Dusty Mole, as well as Gingers sweetheart Hazel. The studio was grooming young Ginger for animated stardom, and several licensing deals were struck in his name. DAVID HAND PRODUCTIONS was formed to produce a series of new films for Televison and Home Video. The company is ready to begin character and story development as soon as funding is in place. Through our Distribution associate, we are prepared to enter the films into worldwide Distribution once the films are completed. David Dodd Hand, the creator, was one of the greatest of the Classic animators and film pioneers of the century. He was Supervising Director of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Bambi, Victory through Airpower and about 80 others while at Disney. As Production Supervisor of the Disney Studio, David was responsible for directing and/or supervising many films for which the Disney Studios received Academy Awards. David was honored by the Queen of England, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mum) in 1949 for the work he did at his Studio, GBA, to help with the British, after war economy. In 1984, he was awarded the Winsor McCay ANNIE. In 1994, The Walt Disney Company bestowed their highest award on him by proclaiming him to be a Legend of Disney.
