Srinagar, July 24: Manhandling of medicos, paramedical and allied - TopicsExpress

Srinagar, July 24: Manhandling of medicos, paramedical and allied staff has been a daily routine in the state now. FDWAK strongly condemns these inhuman and savage acts. Doctors are humans and don’t possess a magic wand that they can do wonders all the time. We respect the value of a life and the ethics associated with it. It has been always doctors’ endeavor to save precious lives but everything is not in their hands. The divine power of Almighty has the final call always.A life saved is an eternal asset and a matter of solace for the whole medical fraternity but unfortunately some people loose their cool and manhandle the staffespecially the doctors with no fault of theirs. The turmoil hit state has already seen a lot of restraints which has effected the health department also. We are already short of human resource and over burdened. The Doctor Patient ratio in the state is too exorbitant which for a common man is beyond imagination. Doctors are humans and not robots that they can work as machines and error free. Furthermore we request themedical fraternity of the state to work with utmost patience and zeal for the up gradation of healthreforms and patient care. FDWAK via this press note stresses the Govt. that the said matter be taken as utmost priorityand make manhandling of medicalstaff as cognizable offence as has been implemented in some statesof India otherwise a state wide protest will be launched to implement the same. Proper security arrangements should be deployed in hospitals so that thereis safety of staff and hospital infrastructure. We have already seen a brain drain of doctors in the past and the issue of manhandling will act as a catalyst and it’s a sure perception that doctors will flee the state in bulk thus deteriorating the already burdened health sector.
