Srinagar, July 9: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Geelani, Tuesday termed as ‘theatrical rhetoric’ the chief minister Omar Abdullah’s recent statement on New Delhi’s Kashmir policy. “Omar Abdullah is issuing such statements only in view of 2014 Assembly elections,” Geelani said in a statement today. On Sunday, Omar criticized New Delhi’s Kashmir policy, saying the Central Government has failed to react to the aspirations of the people. “This statement is nothing more than election stunt. Had Omar been sincere in his Delhi-bashing, he would have no justification to stay inpower and share arbitrary policies of Delhi against people of Jammu and Kashmir. New Delhi is pursuing the policy of repression and suppression in the State to muzzle the popular voice of people for the past 65 years,” Geelani said. “New Delhi would not have succeeded in implementing its anti-people policies in Jammu and Kashmir without support of its stooges like Omar Abdullah, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and Saif-ud-Din Soz. These people are managing the affairs of State on the dictates of New Delhiand implement its agenda. New Delhi has been using Kashmiri pro-India politicians as its pawns. Sometimes it used Bakhshi against Sheikh Abdullah and sometimes Sadiq againstBakhshi. New Delhi sometimes showers its blessings on PDP and sometimes on NC. It means business to realize its own interests.” Meanwhile, Geelani has strongly condemned the slapping of Public Safety Act (PSA) one more time on Mushtaq-ul-Islam. “The continued detention of Masarat Alam Bhat, Mir Hafiz Ullah, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Shakir Ahmed, Zubair Ahmad, Nasir Abdullah of Palhallan and Shakeel Ahmad Bhatof Srinagar is the worst type of political reprisal,” Geelani said, adding that “policy adopted by New Delhi inKashmir would only enhance uncertainty andpolitical instability.” “Tehreek- e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir has established Bait-ul-maal committees to collect donations from well-wishers to distribute it among the deserving and affected people. This work is carried out in an organized manner and the job has been entrusted to trustworthyand honest persons,” Geelani said, urging people of Jammu and Kashmir to deposit their donations with Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and have faith that this would be delivered to the truly deserving people
